Fly-tipping in front of the gate, theft of metals and batteries, night-time intrusions, abuse of staff: waste collection centres and recycling points are exposed sites, often isolated and spread over large areas. Activ’Sécurité designs and installs tailor-made video surveillance systems for municipalities, inter-municipal associations and recycling companies in French-speaking Switzerland.
The problems we help you solve
- Fly-tipping outside opening hours in front of entrances or along fences.
- Theft of metals, cables, batteries and electrical appliances stored in the skips.
- Night-time intrusions and damage to facilities.
- Incivility and disputes with users, where objective images protect your staff.
- Fire risk in storage areas, where rapid detection limits the damage.
Our solution for your waste collection centre
Every site is different: we start with a visit to define the areas to cover (entrances, skips, storage areas, fences), then propose a suitable system.
- CCTV masts galvanised, positioned to cover the skips and entrances with no blind spots, with lighting if needed.
- Motorised dual-lens cameras: a permanent overview plus automatic zoom on the detected person or vehicle.
- Smart detection: cameras tell a person or vehicle apart from an animal or moving vegetation, and trigger an alert outside opening hours.
- Number plate recognition at the entrance to identify vehicles, and access control for authorised users or companies.
- Active deterrence: loudspeaker and floodlight that activate during an intrusion to drive the intruder away before they act.
- Thermal cameras for large sites and night-time monitoring without lighting.
- Remote access for the roads department or site manager, on computer or smartphone.

An installation carried out by our own teams
Our technicians carry out all the work: installing masts and cameras from an aerial platform, connecting to the existing power supply and lighting, radio or long-range wifi links when the site is large, secure recorder and commissioning. We schedule the work with the municipality to limit disruption during opening hours.
Data protection and legal framework
Video surveillance of a public site or one open to the public is governed by data protection law and by cantonal and municipal rules. We support you in setting it up: framing limited to the site, masking of private areas or the public road, image retention period, information signs and access restricted to authorised persons. The exact requirements depend on your canton and municipality: we recommend confirming them with your legal department or the competent cantonal data protection officer.
Maintenance and follow-up
An outdoor site requires robust equipment and regular follow-up. We offer maintenance contracts: camera checks and cleaning, recording checks, updates and fast repairs throughout French-speaking Switzerland.
How your project works
- Site visit with the manager of the waste collection centre or the roads department.
- Detailed proposal: mast locations, camera types, options and schedule.
- Installation by our technicians, in coordination with the municipality.
- Commissioning, user training and remote access.
- Long-term maintenance and support.
Frequently asked questions
Does power need to be brought to each mast?
Depending on the site, we use the power supply of the existing lighting or a new line. We assess the simplest solution during the visit.
Can the images identify those responsible for fly-tipping?
Cameras are chosen and positioned to produce usable images day and night, in particular of vehicles and number plates at the entrance. Use of the images must comply with the applicable legal framework.
Can several waste collection centres or recycling points be monitored?
Yes. Several sites can be viewed from the same app, which is practical for an inter-municipal association.
Do you also work for private companies?
Yes: sorting centres, recycling companies, scrap dealers, depots and storage areas.
